Farnham Residence Hall / Southern CT State University
New Haven, Connecticut
Farnham Hall is one of four identical residence halls built in the 1960s. The exterior skin was concrete block and brick veneer with no insulation or air space. The brick veneer ties deteriorated and the brick veneer was in danger of falling off. The interior of the building had not undergone substantial changes since the original construction date.
We were tasked to upgrade all the public spaces, replace the building utilities and to propose a solution to the deteriorated exterior skin.
The final project included: Exterior Envelope redesign and replacement, Window replacement, Extensive site development including Entrance Plaza & Tiered Seating Area, Renovation of Entrance Lobby & all public spaces, Renovation of all bathrooms, Residence Director's Apartment, New electrical service, Air conditioning of public spaces
